Those Yesterdays

I was here about three years ago,
I could stay the same and still the time would flow
But you gotta move, just like the wind must blow,
You know the air just moves,
It’s got nowhere especially important to go

Yeah, if I don’t move, I’m just a cloud of air,
There’s no way else to know, to know that I am there
So, don’t you hold me down, I’ve got some love to share,
I’m getting off the ground, I’ll leave you sitting there

Well being right is not important,
It’s being beautiful that counts
But, if you can mesh the two together,
Then, you’re runnin’ rings around
Those yesterdays, those yesterdays, ah those yesterdays

What is the why and how of how and when we’re here?
You know, I’m only here for those who I hold dear
And one of those is me, I am made of gold,
I would like to die when I am very old

What does the future hold, oh little me?
We’re gonna be just fine, we’re gonna see what we will see
And, if we’re lucky, oh lord, what we could be,
I have a feeling that this is all for me
That this is all for me
Yeah this is all for me

Well, being great is not important,
It’s loving what you know that counts,
But, if you can mesh the two together,
Then you’re runnin’ rings around
Those yesterdays, those yesterdays,
Ah those yesterdays, ah those yesterdays,
Those yesterdays, those yesterdays,
I’m looking forward today, today.
